Obviously, if true, a political stunt - heavily calculated - personally, I think he's better off just letting the protesting and rioting continue if he wants to get re-elected - I don't see how it helps him - stick with the narrative - police, military, peace, economy, etc. - let the dems be the party of BLM

If I was him, I'd do photo/video ops with small business owners. Who had their life's work destroyed. And tell them you are going to push legislation to compensate those who had their small business destroyed by Marxism.

Agree, forget squashing it from a political perspective.

We're talking a swing state, that's a layup.

His advisors and guys working the computers have a good feel for where he needs to go and what he needs to say

They were great in 2016 anyhow. WINNING is not always on the surface and not always easy to see.

I trust his team

Anyone think that this is a good idea? Could possibly lead to more violence....

he’s the President and can go wherever he wants.

if that causes violence, it’s the fault of the people committing the violence and the party that encourages it.

I would like to think that if Trump brought the hammer down on the rioters he would gain
favor from the voters. The media would immediately condemn it but fair minded people
would approve. I know if it was going on in my neighborhood and the local officials
did nothing I would expect the Federal government to intervene.

Am I in the minority on this?

Really. He's going to see up close what is happening in cities across America. And what's happening to cities across America should never have gotten a foothold. It should have never been tolerated for one minute. Private citizens and businesses should have been protected from the anarchist mob by the governing officials.

Trump has offered help. He gets rejected. Why?

Trump will find a solution to this insanity and abrogation of local government responsibilities to their good citizens.

So tell me why anyone would object to that.
